Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Laboratory Intern who will be responsible for defining the distribution and density of target mosquito species in relation to human populations.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a lab environment, is interested in public health, sustainability, and learning different aspects of mosquito operations.

WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARYstarting at $16/hrMonday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pmFull-time seasonal position (generally May - End of September) QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LABORATORY INTERNBackground in Biology, Entomology, Environmental Science or related field preferredCurrently enrolled or recent graduate from an accredited University or College preferredThis position may be used for internship credit with the university's approvalBe 18 years of age or olderHave a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving recordSelf-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environmentRequired to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms RESPONSIBILITIES OF A LABORATORY INTERNMonitor/collect surveillance traps in an assigned regionIdentify adult and larval mosquitoes to speciesAbility to recognize and troubleshoot field-related challengesPrepare mosquitoes for virus testingSurveillance equipment inventory and organizationData entry and analysis ABOUT CLARKEClarke lives up to the Company's mission to make communities around the world more livable, safe and comfortable.
