Job Summary:

The position involves assessing patients, creating treatment plans based on evaluations, providing direct patient care, documenting progress, and offering guidance to patients and caregivers. In addition, it entails assisting senior physical therapists with program development, serving as a resource to fellow PTs, and overseeing patient care provided by assistants and rehab technicians.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licenses/Certifications: Must hold a current license to practice Physical Therapy in Texas and Certification in Basic Life Support.

For direct access, the following applies:

Education: Doctoral degree with residency/fellowship or licensed therapist with specific continuing education.

Licenses/Certifications: Current license to practice Physical Therapy in Texas.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Occasional/frequent lifting and carrying heavy weights, standing for long periods, and performing various physical movements.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, communication skills, and visual acuity are necessary for this role.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Takes charge of patient care, conducts thorough evaluations, develops and implements treatment plans, and monitors progress.
  • Administers advanced physical therapy treatments, communicates effectively with patients and colleagues, and manages time efficiently.
  • Keeps accurate medical records, serves as a mentor to staff and students, and actively participates in departmental initiatives.
  • Emphasizes the importance of patient and staff safety, adheres to policies and procedures, and supports the growth of the organization.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to creating compassionate and personalized experiences for all community members.
