Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
  • Take and develop dental xrays as directed by the dentist
  • Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing retraction
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and postoperative care instructions
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
  • Xray certification required
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems
  • Proficiency in using dental software for charting and scheduling
  • Familiarity with medical coding for insurance claims is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with patients
