Job Description

Greer Stop Nut in Nashville, TN is currently looking for an experienced Traditional Tool & Die Maker for the 1st Shift position. Ideal candidates must possess considerable previous experience in using lathes, mills, and EDM equipment and demonstrate a solid mechanical inclination. The role involves substantial troubleshooting and the ability to swiftly address issues.

Schedule: The workday starts at 5:00AM and concludes at 2:30 PM from Monday to Friday.

Overtime: Additional work hours are frequently available on Saturdays or before and after the regular workweek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detect or examine faulty die or machine parts and outline the necessary corrective measures.
  • Operate and set up machines like manual mills, grinders, lathes, EDMs, and polishing tools to craft all prerequisite product varieties, including intricate tooling components.
  • Install crafted parts or replacements in dies, machinery, and devices.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on dies, shop, and production equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Engineering teams on issue resolution and research & development endeavors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines and equipment handling.
  • Fulfill other delegated duties.

Qualifications / Expertise Needed:

  • Capability to create or delineate specifications based on general descriptions and fabricate a sketch or blueprint of a part or die component.
  • Proficiency in resolving die-related problems.
  • Competence in constructing, testing, and debugging new dies.
  • Minimum of 5 years involvement in traditional Tool & Die operations.

Educational Background:

  • Completion of High School or GED. Possession of Advanced Technical School Degree/Certifications is advantageous.
