Job Title: ECE Assistant/Bus Driver at Head Start

- Basic Functions:
- This is a role where you'll be supporting early childhood teachers in providing education, care, and supervision to preschool-aged children. Your responsibilities will include assisting in classrooms, common areas, playgrounds, and during transportation. Additionally, you'll be helping to maintain classroom environments and materials to facilitate learning.
Qualifications
- Education and Training:
- Completion of a GED/High School diploma within 6 months of hire.
- Completion of CDA or equivalent in early childhood education within two (2) years of hire with focus on preschool age children.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a play-oriented learning or equivalent environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of early child development principles and practices for educational settings.
- Knowledge of instruction methods for preschool-aged children.
- Basic clerical and record-keeping processes.
- Proficiency in using personal computers, games, and other equipment to support learning.
- Human relation skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Ability to assess individual students' needs and assist with instructional activities.
- Capacity to engage positively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Capability to handle children's physical needs and emotional well-being.
- Aptitude for indoor and outdoor activities in a classroom or playground environment.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with staff and students.
- Near visual acuity for reading and observing children's activities.
- Ambulatory ability to move around classroom and playground environments.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and assist with light to medium objects.
- Appropriate personal appearance, grooming, and language around children.
- Ability to safely assist children on and off a bus.
