As a Registered Nurse (RN) within our Electrophysiology Device Clinic, here's what you'll primarily be responsible for:


  • Performing interrogation, interpretations, and programming of implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, etc.) for both ambulatory and hospitalized patients.
  • Conducting interrogation, monitoring, and managing routine remote monitoring for implanted cardiac devices.
  • Engaging with patients through education, family support, and phone consultations.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Delivering professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures while hospitalized across various healthcare settings.
  • Assessing patients, documenting findings, and collaborating with physicians on next steps.
  • Developing and executing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Coordinating continuous care, identifying discharge requirements, and assisting with discharge planning.
  • Providing telephone triage and participating in call rotations as per departmental needs.
  • Administering medications, managing treatments, and overseeing nursing procedures under physician guidance.
  • Serving as a charge nurse when required to ensure efficient operations and care continuity.
  • Participating in educational, research, and performance improvement initiatives while offering health education to patients and families.
  • Remaining proficient in nursing standards and core competencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • Preferably holds a BSN degree.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is a must.
  • If working in areas with moderate sedation procedures, ACLS certification within 6 months of hire is required.

  • If in an Emergency Department setting, PALS certification upon hire or within a year.


    In departments using PICC Lines, CRNI or VA-BC certification preferred within three years.

  • Must possess critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work autonomously in stressful conditions.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands and handle potentially stressful situations.
  • A minimum of one year of recent RN experience; two years preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Full range of motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to stand and walk extensively; corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Physical demand exceeding that of Light Work.
