Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Marriott International, you will play a crucial role in attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse team of top talent. You will lead and collaborate with HR professionals on recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and training. Your responsibilities include implementing strategies outlined in the Human Resource Business Plan to meet employee needs and drive business success, while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.



CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in human resources, management operations, or a related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major from an accredited university; 2 years of experience in human resources or related areas.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Legal and Compliance Practices

  • Ensure proper retention of terminated employee files.
  • Oversee compliance in all human resource audits.
  • Maintain documentation of disciplinary actions.
  • Adhere to key policies (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non-Discrimination).
  • Collaborate on unemployment claims responses.
  • Represent property at unemployment hearings.
  • Uphold fair treatment policies and procedures.
  • Administer property policies consistently.
  • Ensure completion of disciplinary procedures in line with SOPs and LSOPs.

Managing Human Resources Communication

  • Communicate benefit plan changes promptly.
  • Provide property rules and regulations through an employee handbook.
  • Coach managers on progressive discipline.

Managing Staffing and Employee Development Activities

  • Participate in HR team member interviewing and hiring.
  • Maintain performance evaluation paperwork.
  • Oversee performance appraisal process.

Maintaining Employee Relations

  • Establish collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Address employee concerns promptly through an open-door policy.
  • Establish effective employee communication channels.
  • Monitor for signs of union organization.
  • Encourage employee feedback and engagement activities.
