POSITION:
Mechanic at Municipal Garage, City of Middletown, Ohio

The City of Middletown is currently seeking candidates for the role of Mechanic. If you enjoy working on vehicles and equipment, this position might be a great fit for you.

COMPENSATION:
$31.31 per hour along with comprehensive benefits.

This job involves skilled mechanical tasks focusing on the maintenance and repair of city-owned vehicles and equipment. The Garage Superintendent will provide general supervision for the work. The typical work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in repairing gas and diesel motors, equipment units, buses, vehicles, and apparatus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License or Ohio Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License with necessary endorsements.
  • CDL not mandatory for application but must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • EPA 608/609 Certification for handling Freon within 6 months of employment.

All interested candidates are welcome to participate in a written examination scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2024.
