AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Geologist III to be based in, Long Beach CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and project manage various field and office tasks associated with environmental remediation and water production sites for various clients in Southern California.
  • Provide fieldbased task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
  • Oversee and lead drilling, well installation, development, rehabilitation, aquifer testing, and various sampling tasks.
  • Oversee contractor construction activities, remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Provide technical support for data management and evaluation.
  • Draft environmental investigation reports, project specifications, and project proposals.
  • Review and provide constructive comments on standard operating procedures for specific tasks.
  • Lead project management tasks such as budgeting, schedule, and scope development and tracking.
  • Establish and demonstrate good communication with project managers.
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety and willingness to mentor junior staff.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements**:

Position requires:

  • Environmental work at Refinery and Fuel terminal sites;
  • USCS or USDA soil logging methods;
  • Monitoring well construction and development;
  • Aquifer testing and groundwater elevation monitoring;
  • Well rehabilitation;
  • Environmental field data collection: sampling for VOCs, TPH and metals;
  • Phase I and Phase II ESA;
  • 40Hour HAZWOPER training certification; and
  • 20Hour High Hazard Refinery training.
