QA Software Developer

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Junior or early Intermediate Software Developer with a QA/Testing focus for our Production Solutions department. This role will focus on testing, quality control and maintenance of our existing software products and deployments.

The department is geographically dispersed and offers its members the opportunity to work in a remote, in-office or hybrid work environment.

Roles And Responsibilities

Test, and debug existing software systems for our users and clients.

Analyze code to find root causes of errors and revise programs as needed.

Document testing procedures for software and/or automated deployment processes.

Work with the team to help define new functionality.

Participate as a member in our application portfolio management plan.

Follow provided security best practices to enhance application security.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development.

Participate in project planning and risk management efforts for assigned software.

Required Education/Experience:
Associate degree from an accredited university and/or a certificate of completion from an approved software development/testing program.

Experience with debugging, testing, helping create test plans and mitigating issues in software.

At least 1 year of experience testing software that was written using a modern programming language.

Python, .NET, JavaScript are preferred.

Experience creating software in an academic or professional capacity using at least one of the languages listed above.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Good problem-solving skills and initiative to take ownership of tasks.

Ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed team.

Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Experience:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or management information systems from an accredited university.

Some experience with the Microsoft .NET ecosystem and tools.

Some experience with scripting and automation of test runs.

Some experience with PowerShell.

Some experience with Microsoft Azure.

Some experience with Azure DevOps and the GIT version control system.

Experience in the Electrical Utility industry or construction industry.

Experience with CAD and or BIM technologies.

Salary

DOE:

The pay range for this position is $60K - $65K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
