Job Title: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant

This job opportunity involves collaborating with physicians in a private office setting to provide medical care for complex patients. The responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and supporting physicians in patient care. Additionally, the role requires collaborating with different specialties and ensuring continuity of care, as well as providing office coverage in the absence of physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autonomously perform patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention based on approved protocols
  • Collaborate with specialties to maintain continuity of care
  • Provide office coverage for physicians during their absence
  • Prescribe modalities for wellness and illness needs, including hospital admissions/discharge
  • Supervise clinical personnel in the private office as necessary

Education/Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or 2 years as an FNP in a primary care setting preferred
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies preferred
  • Minimum of two years of pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience, or 2 years in a related allied health field strongly preferred

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current Texas professional registered nurse license
  • Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
  • Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred*
  • Current Texas professional physician assistant license
  • Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred*

*PALS certification is required for specific department assignments.
