Must Haves

  • Associate degree with 4-5 years in shipbuilding and ship-work
    • Auto Cad, 2D design, 3D designs for foundations/structures

Plusses

  • Experience using Navis, MS Excel, Bluebeam/Power PDF
  • Structural base experience within the shipbuilding/ship-work space

Day to Day

  • Will be doing more of the modeling and the 3-D work
    • Creating models and drawings of ship structures
  • Will also take on some of the responsibilities of a Tech 1 drafter (re above).
  • Supporting a large shipbuilding contract
  • Sitting on the detail design team that is responsible for updating models and issuing changes.
  • Taking a 3D model and extracting it to 2D that is then sent to manufacturing.
    • These models will be structural pieces of the ship (ceiling, stiffener plates)
  • Assisting with drawing revisions and updates
  • This is all done in AutoCAD and Ship Constructor
