Position Summary:
The Security Operations Analyst III is primarily responsible for monitoring and responding to security events. This individual receives, researches, triages, and documents all security events and alerts. Supporting multiple security-related platforms, vulnerability management, projects, and technologies. Collaborating with others within the IT organization and other internal business units.

Events will originate from various sources such as endpoints, networks, SIEM systems, threat intelligence platforms, employees, and third parties.

Expected to proactively search for potential threats and compromises across the infrastructure.

The Security Operations Analyst III reports to the SOC manager and actively contributes to the SOC team.

This role requires a deep understanding of trends and technologies related to IT security and compliance, contributing to the company's IT security strategy and roadmap.


Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and process security events 24x7
  • Follow standard procedures for incident detection, identification, response, and reporting
  • Conduct vulnerability management
  • Plan and execute incident response exercises
  • Stay abreast of new threats
  • Analyze attacker tactics
  • Utilize automation solutions for task automation
  • Lead incident response and documentation
  • Investigate and document events
  • Hunt for security issues
  • Drive efficiencies
  • Manage security event investigations
  • Evaluate and update SOC policies
  • Adhere to SLAs
  • Collaborate with security engineering team
  • Maintain knowledge of advanced threat detection

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field
  • 5+ years of information security monitoring and response experience
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational environment
  • Experience with SIEM systems, threat intelligence platforms, and security automation
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols
  • Integrity, pride in work, curiosity, and adaptability
  • Experience with network systems, security principles, and compliance initiatives
  • Effective communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Highly organized, efficient, and trustworthy
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions

Certifications:
  • CISSP
  • GCIH or GCIA, GPEN
  • CEH
