Job Description

This job description outlines the primary responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Inspection Technical Lead. The individual will provide support to inspection capabilities and the development of emerging programs. The Team Lead is responsible for determining the scope and type of review to accomplish the inspection. This includes identifying the physical, personnel, communications, and information systems requirements to complete the inspection. Additionally, it includes the determination of resources based on scope, coordination of the inspection procedures associated with the inspection type development of a site report, and any briefings that are required for the completion of the review. In addition, the team lead will ensure that proper security information, protocols, and requirements are provided to the site. The team lead will also ensure all appropriate documentation to close out the review is completed within established timelines, including recommendations for follow-up.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical oversight and ensuring technical accuracy of all JCIP deliverables.
  • Assisting in gathering privileged information on the targeted organization.
  • Researching open-source information to support effective targeting and risk reporting.
  • Coordinating with organizational POCs to define target assets based on mission analysis.
  • Overseeing multiple technology areas.
  • Creating and delivering all organization briefings.
  • Conducting daily hot washes to report on inspection results and inform key personnel of ongoing discoveries and issues.
  • Resolving issues that affect data collection.
  • Ensuring Quality Control on collected inspection data.
  • Managing final reports and out-briefs development.
  • Developing training plans, guides, checklists, tool recommendations, and SOPs with technical SMEs.
  • Tracking and updating development/integration plans status.
  • Formulating internal and external risk-based methodologies for organizational risk assessments.
  • Providing regular status updates.
  • Creating written Course of Action Recommendations and presentations.
  • Identifying system performance indicators and necessary actions for improvement.
  • Documenting vulnerabilities and associated attacks categorically for reports.
  • Evaluating security controls based on cybersecurity principles and standards.
  • Assisting in collecting information on targeted organizations.
  • Developing vulnerability test plans for compliance-based testing.
  • Using standard tools to assess vulnerabilities and discrepancies securely.
  • Utilizing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and STIG Viewer for inspection results.
  • Providing result details and synopses for reporting final information.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong auditor mindset.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of process optimization importance.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Knowledgeable about cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security.
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and network security architecture.
  • Knowledge of network equipment and cybersecurity principles.
  • Skill in interpreting vulnerability scanner results and managing client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and across departments to align with security objectives.

Clearance, Education, and Certification Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years' Cyber/Information Assurance experience with intermediate cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
  • DoD Cybersecurity workforce certification and compliance with DoD Directive 8140 and IAT II.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, including local travel to the National Capital Region (NCR).
