Description

SUMMARY

This position is Seasonal, and shall be assigned as needed during any given 24-hour period; the shift schedule is subject to change with minimal notice. Keeneland Security Associates shall receive adequate resources, and proper tools and training needed to perform job related tasks.

Position Description - Security Associate (Part Time)

Performs necessary duties as assigned during Race Meetings, Sales Auctions or Special Events. Assists in the maintenance of a safe and secure environment, assists fellow Keeneland personnel, and patrons, as needed. Serves in a part-time employment capacity. Does not have authority to carry a firearm.

The Security Associate roles encompasses many tasks during Race Meetings, Sales Auctions, Special Events, and additional activities throughout each calendar year to include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Grandstand Security/Patrol
  • Trackside Security/Patrol
  • Paddock Security/Patrol
  • Winner's Circle Security/Patrol
  • Jockey's Quarters Security/Patrol
  • Admission Gate Security
  • Special Event Security/Patrol
  • Sales Pavilion Security/Patrol
  • Inside/Outside Show Ring Security/Patrol
  • Horse Barn Security/Patrol

Examples of Duties:

Provides assistance at Admission Gates, in Grandstand, Paddock, Sales Pavilion, and surrounding buildings/areas as needed, to prevent trespass, theft, fire, property damage, disorderly patrons/employees, and other identified hazards or needs. Conducts walking patrols of, provides security in designated areas by controlling access, permitting only authorized personnel to enter designated areas, identify safety and fire hazards, report unusual occurrences and activities. Assists patrons as requested, directs individuals to proper areas and assists in the delivery of racing forms and programs, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Must have the ability to read and write. Must be physically capable of performing the required tasks.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess Kentucky Driver's License, and be able to attain a Kentucky Horse Racing License, (Keeneland shall provide).
