Overview:

The Bellperson plays a crucial role in assisting guests with luggage upon arrival and departure, as well as ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay by providing attentive and courteous service.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload luggage carts
  • Organize and deliver luggage for tour groups
  • Escort guests to rooms and familiarize them with hotel services
  • Inspect guests' rooms to ensure they are in order and well-equipped
  • Explain room features and functionalities, including electronic devices and entertainment
  • Check and store luggage with proper tags for incoming and outgoing guests
  • Handle storage, tracking, and delivery of packages as required
  • Deliver messages to meeting rooms
  • Provide delivery services for items like flowers, laundry, and packages to guestrooms
  • Assist guests with room changes
  • Maintain updated information on local attractions, events, and activities
  • Keep a list of local transportation options, churches, sports venues, etc.
  • Support Houseperson in addressing guest requests
  • Ensure accuracy of lobby reader board
  • Offer information, maps, and directions to guests as needed
  • Assist front desk agents by answering calls on the console
  • Show guestrooms and suites when required, highlighting hotel amenities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; experience in hospitality industry preferred
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state may be required
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Capability to stand for the entire duration of the shift
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective at listening to and addressing concerns of employees and guests
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
