ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


To perform complex auditing work, and to lead, coordinate, and review the work of professional accountant positions and clerical staff.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Supervising Internal Auditor, the incumbent will:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits-
  • Evaluate internal controls-
  • Determine compliance with policies and procedures-
  • Review complex data, schedules, and reports-
  • Identify opportunities for improvement-
  • Recommend corrective actions-
  • Prepare audit reports-
  • Perform risk analysis and compile assessment reports
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A valid California Class C driver license-
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or closely related field which included at least one course in auditing
    AND
  • Option #1: One (1) year of experience in the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County as an Accountant II or equivalent-
  • Option #2: Three (3) years of experience working in a professional auditor capacity

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    SELECTION PROCESS:
  • The selection process will consist of a writing project and an interview. The writing project will be scored as part of the interview. The interview is weighted at 100% of the overall score.
    The writing project is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 9.The interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of July 15.**
