Specific Duties:

  • Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures.
  • Assist radiologists and other physicians during interventional procedures such as angiography, stent placements, biopsies, and drainages.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to aseptic techniques.
  • Operation of Imaging Equipment:
  • Operate and maintain interventional radiology equipment including fluoroscopes, ultrasound machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines.
  • Adjust equipment settings to produce high-quality images.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
  • Educate patients and their families about the procedures and aftercare.
  • Review images for clarity, accuracy, and quality.
  • Utilize Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing and retrieving images.
  • Work with radiologists to ensure optimal image interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs.Document all relevant patient interactions and procedural details in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training programs.
  • Stay updated with advancements in interventional radiology techniques and technology.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals.

Must have qualifications/experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years IR experience in a large hospital setting
  • ARRT Radiography
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography Post-Primary Certification from the ARRT (VI)
  • Medical Terminology Knowledge
  • Experience working in a fast paced team environment
  • Great Multitasker
