Behavioral Health Seeking Family Medicine APP for Medical Position in Charlotte, NC

We are looking for an experienced full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specialized in family medicine to join our team and provide quality medical services to the patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community at Atrium Health Service Line.

This position is occupied by Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and/or Physician Assistants (PA) who are specifically trained and proficient in the provision of medical services under the direct supervision of family medicine physicians. The provider in this position will perform history and physical examinations and medical management of adult and child/adolescent patients throughout their lifespan, evaluating, stabilizing, and treating patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.

Position Description:

  • ED/Inpatient
  • 7 on/7 off schedule, totaling 1880 hours annually
  • Weekends and Holidays Required (No call)
  • Teaching opportunities available with residents and/or APP Fellows
  • Eligible for excess shift pay, Paid Time Off (PTO), and Performance Incentive Bonuses
  • Eligible for $2500/40 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Current licensure to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina
  • Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from AHA required
  • Nurse practitioners must hold a master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice and be certified as a Family NP from a nationally recognized certifying body
  • Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred
  • At least one year of experience preferred
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • NC/SC Licensure
