As a UI Designer, your role involves collaborating with the Product Design team to enhance existing technologies and introduce new ones, particularly in Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence. You will partner with key stakeholders to conceptualize, define, and design user interfaces for products in HealthCast Acute Care and Monitoring. Additionally, you'll foster a culture of trust and close collaboration within the Digital Health and AI division.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior UI Designer, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing UI aspects, design creation, and implementation for HealthCast projects. You'll work closely with the Chief Designer to ensure consistency in design language and collaborate with the Human Factors Design Engineer to refine designs and convey the final vision to the Scrum Team.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of user experience principles applicable to consumer-facing and medical device products
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar visual design and prototyping applications
  • Establishing and managing a UI design system
  • Capability to navigate ambiguity, work independently, stay organized, and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Understanding business requirements with previous product management exposure
  • Familiarity with project stage gate processes in the medical device project lifecycle
  • Documenting designs for a design history file
  • Collaborating with teams on Digital Health & AI initiatives to harness diverse expertise globally for developing top-notch products and services that resonate with customers
  • Working with other leaders to ensure successful development, release, and launch of high-quality products or programs

Who You Are - Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the medical device industry in systems, digital or software development, or an advanced degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in the medical device industry in systems, digital, or software development with a proven track record. Familiarity with Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Involvement in over 5 major product or portfolio launches. Experience in a regulated product industry is an advantage.
  • Ability to swiftly grasp complex system behaviors, engineering challenges, and technical limitations
  • An impressive design portfolio showcasing previous work
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate ideas to internal and external stakeholders

The provided salary range is applicable nationally in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and specific CA locations) and aligns with federal/local regulations. The actual rate may vary based on individual experience, certifications, education, market conditions, and location.

This role is eligible for a short-term incentive plan. Find out more about the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
