Responsible for spearheading the drive towards technology strategy and technical capabilities within an application ecosystem. Utilize a deep understanding of business processes and technical components to create application architecture that effectively balances business and customer requirements with technical aspects such as resilience, security, and efficiency. Collaborate with application engineers to ensure the ecosystem is developed in line with the architecture vision, constantly evolving to meet evolving customer and business needs. Actively manage and escalate risks and customer-related issues as part of your day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Product Owner(s) to shape product vision and strategy, aligning it with the technology strategy
  • Independently lead the design process for an application
  • Mentor other architects on developing product quality strategies, including nonfunctional requirements like reliability, availability, and security
  • Show a strong grasp of business processes and technical components
  • Train others on solution design patterns
  • Guide internal technology communities, remain actively involved in understanding and exploring modern technologies and trends
  • Create and maintain a holistic design overview of the product portfolio
  • Design and document solutions that fulfill business needs
  • Conduct feasibility analysis, compare products, map capabilities, and provide high-level estimations
  • Apply necessary Architecture development processes as required by the organization

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, these are the requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture, or related roles
  • For internal candidates only: must have a technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus architecture scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience in designing, building, and implementing software applications on Kubernetes and cloud platforms
  • Experience with developing Web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Javascript frameworks, and full stack web application development
  • Knowledge of API, Application integration patterns
  • Familiarity with Business process management technologies like IBM BPM
  • Experience with Microservice architecture, Hexagonal architecture pattern, and Domain-driven design
  • Background in Payment networks and the Banking industry
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Compensation:

The base pay for this role generally ranges between $148,000.00 to $204,000.00. Additional incentives may be offered as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level can influence the pay for this position.
