Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional/performance testing on products utilizing a mix of manual and auto-testing methods
  • Build and implement software test plans to detect software issues and their origins for Fortinet's network security products
  • Debug software products with systematic tests to establish, apply, and uphold quality standards for company products
  • Create, adjust, and execute software test plans, automated scripts, and programs for testing
  • Analyze and draft test standards and procedures, maintain documentation of test results to aid in debugging and modification of software
  • Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action
  • Offer feedback to the development team in resolving problems
  • Reproduce and provide effective technical solutions for customer issues
  • Perform specialized functional and performance testing on proprietary products using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Create test specifications and specialized auto-testing tools with an advanced traffic generator
  • Develop advanced scripts to enhance the testbed and reproduction efficiency for product testing
  • Create manual and automation test techniques to troubleshoot customer issues, identify root causes, and eliminate product issues and defects
  • Collaborate with the development team and product manager to address solutions for issues and ensure defects are fixed and prevented
  • Demonstrate passion, motivation, willingness to learn, and explore new technologies
  • Effective team player

Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VPN, IPSec, SSL
  • Familiarity with network security technologies such as Firewalls, IPS, Anti-Virus, Web Filter, Antispam, DLP, and authentication
  • Understanding of firewall architecture with network processor and distributor processor
  • Ability to diagnose issues in network products, find root cause, and troubleshoot solutions
  • Experience using network tester tools to reproduce software bugs
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, routing protocols, network sniffers, packet replay, among others
  • Proficiency in traffic generators like Breakpoint and IxLoad
  • Knowledge of security technologies like firewall, IPS, Antivirus, Application control, and VPN
  • Understanding of various security scenarios and deployment modes
  • Familiarity with traffic generator tools and cloud systems
  • Understanding of Vector Packet Processing framework and CGN technology
  • Awareness of DPDK framework and related technology
  • Capable of writing Python scripts or shell scripts
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with other departments
  • Capability to work efficiently under tight time constraints
  • Preferred networking certifications such as Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, etc.

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
