JOB POSITION: Machinist Intern / Pre-Apprenticeship Program

The Machinist Intern / Pre-Apprenticeship program is tailored for high school students currently enrolled in a machining technical program to expand their knowledge and apply learned skills in a machine department environment.The successful candidate will complete a structured on-the-job training program, participate in online training courses, and kick start a career in machining.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Through our hands-on training program, the successful applicant will learn to set up and repair aerospace components on Manual/CNC machining equipment.

• Complete the internship program with coursework focusing on aerospace component setup and repair.
• Learn industry standards, materials machined, repair processes, safety policies, and proper documentation.
• Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of machine tools.
• Read technical drawings and work instructions.
• Inspect machined components for quality.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Enrolled in a technical high school or trade school for machining.
• Proficient in basic math and technical document interpretation.
• Display positive work ethic and attendance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Self-starter with a positive learning attitude.
• Basic computer skills and understanding of measuring tools.
• Proficient in English language.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Pre-employment testing may apply.
• Work may involve standing, sitting, and lifting heavy parts.
• Follow safety and environmental rules.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Frequent use of hand-held tools.
