Ears and Hearing, PA is looking for part-time infant hearing screeners.

We are looking to fill a part time position.

This is for an enthusiastic and energetic
Newborn Hearing Technician to work as a
PART-TIME permanent screener and one to work on a PRN basis.

In this position, you will work on-site performing state-mandated hearing screens on newborns. Positions are based in a busy Newborn Nursery and/or NICU hospital setting. Working hours begin at 8:00 AM. The day ends when all the testing has been completed for the day. Our program operates 7 days a week 365 days a year. You must have open availability. Schedules will be determined a month in advance and will include weekends and holidays. The scheduled is shared between two permanent screeners. The PRN position is scheduled on an as needed basis.

The Newborn Hearing Technician performs hearing screens, provides education to parents about the relevance of hearing screening and early intervention and records patient information and hearing screen results.


  • We can not stress enough that this position is what the screener makes it_ If you are a motivated, selfstarter we encourage you to apply. THE POSITION PAYS PER SCREEN It can take up to 30 minutes to complete a screen.

Qualifications:

Education level:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Experience Industry:
Prior experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear seven (7) year background check
  • The ability to have interpersonal communication with the public.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to perform accurate data entry.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity when handling infants.
  • Able to work on weekends and national holidays.
  • Able to work mornings to midday
  • Normal start time 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Vaccinations as required by hospitals, including Flu Vaccine
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Screen.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on program needs, including weekdays, weekends, and holiday shifts, if needed
  • Interact and develop relationships with hospital personnel to ensure effective levels of communication are maintained

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and push the screening equipment. Perform light physical lifting (up to 25 pounds) on an intermittent basis. Have the ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
