Responsibilities:


Support in managing and overseeing the execution of the resident care plan, ensuring proper utilization of safety devices, positioning strategies, toileting plans, and infection control procedures.

Coordinate and supervise all services on designated units to establish a cozy and welcoming environment for the residents.

Regularly check on nursing units, including interacting with licensed and unlicensed staff, assessing acutely ill or terminally ill residents, and welcoming new admissions.

Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures.
Help foster a team-oriented environment to improve resident care and quality of life.

Offer guidance and support to nurses by assisting in assessment and care planning for residents with changing conditions, managing tasks and priorities, providing education, and obtaining necessary supplies/medications.Monitor and ensure proper reporting and documentation of incidents, accidents, and resident/staff complaints. Help identify root causes, implement preventive measures, and communicate with all relevant parties, including administration and unit managers.

Facilitate communication between licensed nurses, providers, responsible parties, and external vendors to meet resident care needs effectively.

Ensure accurate documentation through spot-checks and ongoing supervision.
Respond to, assist with, and document facility emergencies.
Collaborate with Unit Managers to ensure continuity of care for residents, address staffing concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Oversee hiring and termination processes.
Facilitate communication between shift staff and unit managers/DON/ADON.
Help maintain adequate staffing levels in the nursing department.
Implement disciplinary actions following Human Resources and nursing department guidelines when required.
Supervise the appropriate use of equipment and make recommendations for equipment and supply needs to the Director of Nursing.
Provide direct resident care and function as a staff nurse as needed.
Conduct and deliver performance evaluations for shift staff in consultation with unit managers; provide guidance and additional training as necessary.

Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a valid RN/LPN license.
At least one year of experience in long-term care; supervisory experience is desirable.
