We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Bailiff at Municipal Court. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining order in the courtroom, ensuring the safety of all individuals present, and assisting with various administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
  • Open the courtroom and clear everyone through metal detectors
  • Make announcements in court defining decorum and procedures
  • Provide security for the courtroom and clerk processing area
  • Take defendants into custody as directed by the judge
  • Close and secure the courtroom and adjacent areas after court
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Two years of experience in Law Enforcement
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • TCLEOSE certified as a peace officer
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in Law Enforcement
  • Intermediate or Master's Peace Officer Certification
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of court operations, procedures, and arrest laws is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to work flexible hours, follow instructions, exercise good judgment, and interact effectively with co-workers and the public.

Overall Position Strength Demands:
