Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Title: General Laborer

Pay: $17 - $19/hr

Shift: 1:30pm - 12:00am

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working many positions in the steel plant while working effectively and efficiently.
  • Will be in charge of rolling out bundles, banding them, and preparing for upcoming work.
  • Measuring steel with tape measurer.
  • Working on a shear with the operator and helping as needed.
  • Setting up skids to stack finished material onto.
  • Looking for defects on the material as it moves on the line.
  • Variations of job performance will happen due to cross training.

Required Work Experience & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must have some experience reading a tape measure.
  • Must be comfortable working with heavy machinery.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day.

This position is labor intensive and physically demanding. - Must be able to continuously lift 35+ pounds and able to stand for a long period of time.
