Physical Therapist II,(L2 musculoskeletal/NEURO.) Full-Time Days, University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL

In this role, the Physical Therapist II. performs advanced/specialized physical therapy services/procedures and consultations, primarily in area of advanced clinical competency and/or specialty certification.
The PT II. develops clinical programs within area of expertise and provides training to other staff and students.

Essential Job Functions


Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements; to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.


Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings; and the patient/family, the referring practitioner and therapist's goals.

Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.

Treats patients with complex problems ie. co-morbidities and/or poor previous out-comes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.

Documents findings; patient progress; and procedures performed and time required.

Instructs patient/families in home programs.

Demonstrates effective time management; achieves designated productivity standard.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors, Master's or DPT degree or verification by the APTA of equivalent training in another country.

Current physical therapy license in the State of Illinois.
