Position Overview:

This job opportunity involves reviewing, analyzing, and making decisions on complex business matters within the Property and Casualty sector. The role requires serving as a liaison between company personnel, addressing business opportunities and resolving issues effectively. Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare premium quotations in alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Evaluate underwriting eligibility for potential policyholders and establish appropriate pricing.
  • Analyze accounts for insurability and make decisions within the authority limits.
  • Conduct visits with agents/brokers to expand business networks.
  • Support agency relationships and plans collaboratively.
  • Address concerns of agents and policyholders effectively.
  • Drive new business growth and maintain existing client base in a specific area.
  • Promote the benefits of workers' compensation insurance products to customers.
  • Collaborate with various departments to solve issues and enhance company relationships.
  • Participate in special committees and contribute to developing territory reports.
  • Review production and loss data, preparing reports accordingly.
  • Research competitive information and support agency performance evaluations.
  • Assess accounts for risk exposure and proper pricing strategies.
  • Train and mentor Underwriting Assistants as required.
  • Analyze loss trends and create action plans for improvement.
  • Coordinate large account service plans with relevant departments.
  • Provide valuable insights for agency advisory council meetings.
  • Assist in setting regional goals for business growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, insurance, or related field. Relevant experience can also be considered in place of a degree in areas like underwriting, marketing, or auditing.

Seeking certifications like CPCU or CIC is advantageous.

Work Experience:

At least one year of experience as a Business Development Associate is required. Knowledge of agency management and marketing is preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Evaluate and determine pricing for policyholders adhering to underwriting guidelines.
  • Initiate insurance transactions following all guidelines.
  • Negotiate effectively and develop strong client relationships.
  • Proficient in Property and Casualty insurance and agency operations.
  • Demonstrate creativity in generating and retaining business.
  • Computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Work independently while supporting agents and managing workload effectively.
  • Resolve problems proactively and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Understanding of workers' compensation laws in different jurisdictions.
  • Analyze territories to identify and address issues efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effectively communicate and present information clearly.
  • Implement audit processes for agencies.
