FUTURE OPENING NOTICE: Deputy Center Director Position

At our company, the Deputy Center Director for Social Development plays a crucial role in our Pathway Achievement Career Training (PACT) framework. This role is focused on planning, organizing, and supervising a variety of activities essential for achieving the objectives of the Job Corps Center's social development department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates in planning, organizing, and executing programs and activities vital for the social development sector's effective operation at the Job Corps Center. Supports the smooth delivery of academic, vocational training, and transitional career services to students within the PACT initiative. Regularly assesses departmental operations to identify areas requiring additional support or adjustments, implementing necessary changes accordingly. Builds and maintains relationships with community leaders, as well as various social, religious, civic, and service organizations. Assists in developing and overseeing the departmental budget, ensuring adequate provisions for current and upcoming activities. Provides timely and accurate reports and keeps other area directors and managers informed about important matters. Upholds Center safety and security by following prescribed guidelines. Fosters open communication channels between students and staff to ensure a harmonious and transparent flow of information within the center. Ensures strict adherence to DOL guidelines and all company policies and procedures. Actively works towards achieving performance standard goals, while promoting a clean and organized workspace. Regularly evaluates team members, offering constructive feedback and recommendations on staff promotions, development, and other relevant HR issues. Takes on temporary assignments in other departments as instructed by the Deputy Center Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must regularly engage in sitting, standing, walking, reaching, talking, and listening. Occasional tasks include sitting, hand movements (fingering, handling), tasting, and smelling. The role involves lifting/moving objects up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions may be required. While the overall noise level is moderate, it can sometimes become loud. Accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Strong leadership, management, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Four years of experience in program management and direction, focusing on youth programs. Past experience with Job Corps is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to achieve satisfactory levels of organizational performance. Must possess a valid State Driver's License.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree from a recognized four-year college or university. A Master's Degree or graduate degree in Business or Public Administration is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in place of specific educational requirements.
