Position Summary:

The Senior Network Architect will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining a heterogeneous on-prem / cloud environment consisting of virtual servers, components, and services.

Responsible for high-level network planning, design, and optimization of a heterogeneous on-prem / cloud environment, including all aspects of cloud IT cybersecurity, supportability, and cost.


Essential Functions:
Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies (including wireless and VoIP). Translates business requirements into network or process designs.

Performs high-level network planning, design, and optimization of a heterogeneous on-prem / cloud environment, including all aspects of cloud IT cybersecurity, supportability, and cost.

Installs, configures, and manages virtual servers, components and services within the AWS and Azure cloud environments.

Maintain accurate documentation for all relevant support-related processes and procedures including, but not limited to, updating systems and application technical standards, installation notes, and support procedures.

Operate and maintain all integrated systems to support mission operations.
Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and architecture.
Monitors network performance ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
Performs troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution scrips.
May take on the role of Project Leader for special enterprise-wide assignments.
Defines critical network architectures and designs for the organization.
Ensures that all work is documented for future reference; follows quality standards; ensures effective and reliable operation.

Coordinates and works with the Chief Architect, Business Relationship Manager, IT Operations Manager to assist in evaluating, designing, and successfully accomplishing changes, upgrades, and new implementations.

Attends training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by Manager, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
Predictable and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
