About the Role:

As a Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your duties will include performing scrub and circulating functions, as well as preparing the operating room and surgical equipment. This position also offers training opportunities in scrub and circulator roles.



What We Look For:

  • Prior experience in the OR as a Scrub Nurse is preferred.
  • Hold a current state RN licensure and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients during surgical procedures.
  • Execute scrub functions and handle surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Perform circulating functions by monitoring patient conditions.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for procedures.
  • Complete any other assigned duties.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • BSN qualification is desirable.

Certifications:

  • Hold a valid RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • If involved in moderate/procedural sedation, obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Must handle high-pressure situations effectively.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience as an RN for at least a year is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and handle patients, manual dexterity, and standing for long durations.
  • Medium Work - involving exerting force occasionally.
  • Frequent lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, and handle supply carts weighing over 75 pounds at times.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Consistently follow Standard Precautions and use necessary personal protective equipment during procedures.
