Department Overview

The Electric Operations team ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to customers. They are responsible for electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.

Position Summary

This role involves providing technical and engineering services on construction projects, supporting contractors, and overseeing project execution. Responsibilities include reviewing projects, scheduling work, forecasting costs, coordinating with various stakeholders, and utilizing engineering expertise to solve problems.

The position requires both field and office work, with possible storm response duties and travel within the company's service territory.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinating engineering work
  • Directing activities on job assignments
  • Inspecting work for compliance
  • Conducting engineering studies and analysis
  • Making construction recommendations

  • Supporting construction projects with technical expertise
  • Tracking project financial performance
  • Adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management OR 2 years of relevant experience
  • Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules

Desired:

  • Construction experience
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Advanced Excel and database skills
  • Contracting and clearance submittal experience
  • Engineer-In-Training certificate
  • AutoCAD or drafting skills
  • Surveying experience
