Job Description:

Benchmark Camp is an independent coeducational 5-week day camp serving bright children in grades 1 through 6 with dyslexia and/or ADD/ADHD along with students whose parents want them to have additional help in language arts. We offer educational as well as recreational fun to more than 200 students.

Benchmark Camp seeks an energetic, attentive, and certified swimming instructor. The job of the swimming instructor is to accomplish the camp's objectives by supporting and facilitating activities designed by the Recreation Program Director and teaching students how to swim in our outdoor pool.

Benchmark Camp is in session from July 1 to August 2 (closed on July 4 and July 5). In-service is required from June 24 to June 28, more details to come.

Camp staff must be on campus from 7:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. when camp is in session.

Qualifications

  • Junior or senior in high school or older
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn and enforce the camp's safety and operating rules
  • Must pass reference checks and background screenings, which include fingerprint check and sex offender registry check
  • Will pay to certify or recertify Application Requirements
