The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine invites applications for Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics Department, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine [R0131191].

ROLE of the POSITION


The Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics (GSO) department is seeking candidates at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to provide clinical services as a Maternal and Fetal Medicine physician.

This is a 12-month faculty (non-tenure track) position.


This role involves inpatient/outpatient and consultative care at the University Medical Center Hospital in Las Vegas Nevada, Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas Nevada, and UNLV Health outpatient clinical locations in Las Vegas Nevada.

The successful candidate will participate in medical student and resident education and have an interest in scholarly activities.

Proven abilities in the areas of medical student and resident education, clinical research, health outcomes or education outcomes research is desirable.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and rank.

PROFILE of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine


Located primarily within the Las Vegas Medical District, the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV graduated its first class of students in May of 2021.

Fully accredited, the school currently has 240 medical students, 150 faculty physicians, and more than 300 medical residents and fellows.

With a new medical education building opening in 2022, including state-of-the-art medical classrooms and simulation center, the school continues to grow.


As one of the most diverse medical schools in the nation, our graduates have been accepted to prestigious residency and fellowship programs throughout the country.

Our faculty, students, residents, and fellows have had their research published in peer-reviewed journals that range from the American Journal of Surgery to Cancer Cytopathology.


With a group practice, UNLV Health, which provides care to more than 10,000 patients per month in its 17 primary care and specialty care clinics, and its partner hospitals, the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV is transforming healthcare in Southern Nevada.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


The successful candidate requires a MD or DO degree from a regionally accredited college or university and completion of ACGME accredited residency program.

Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Maternal Fetal Medicine prior to employment commencing.

The candidate must be eligible for a Nevada medical license, malpractice coverage, a State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA license.

The candidate must also meet credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain admitting privileges at applicable hospitals and/or clinics.

Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. This position is contingent upon funding.
