Major Responsibilities & Duties
  • Performs cleaning of patient rooms, clinical, and public areas
  • Performs terminal cleaning of operating rooms
  • Performs turnover cleaning between operating room cases and patient admissions and discharges
  • Utilizes hospital-approved chemicals following manufacturer's instructions
  • Monitors and replenishes inventory levels of linens and supplies
  • Utilizes and maintains equipment properly according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Transports clean and used linen properly
  • Transports trash and hazardous waste safely to disposal location
  • Cleans emergency spills promptly
  • Exhibits good customer service with providers, employees, patients, and visitors
  • Maintains standards for readiness and Infection Control practices
  • Reports safety concerns when identified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks professionally
  • Flexible for travel between BTNRH locations and departments
  • Effective communication and maintaining harmonious relationships
  • Knowledge of policies and administrative procedures
  • Ability to handle high volume situations and multitasking
  • Maintains patient confidentiality

  • Completes required training and competency
  • Strong customer service, basic computer skills, and ability to use a communication device
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to speak, read, and write basic English
  • Completion of Hospital Training Modules within the first month of hire
  • Ability to work assigned shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year cleaning experience preferred
  • Previous hospital technician experience in healthcare setting preferred
