Job Description

Prepares and positions patients and selects exposure factors under direct and indirect supervision. Follows safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures. Prepares for and assists the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of radiographic exams. Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in the department. Notifies appropriate staff members of supply needs, equipment malfunction, and necessary maintenance. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Required Minimum Training and Education:

· Current 2nd year student in a formal Diagnostic Imaging Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

· Must have the ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

· Currently enrolled in an accredited diagnostic imaging program, 2nd year student.

· Limited Radiologic License.

· Current BLS certification.

Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
