Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 3am-11:30am

Job Description:

  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and record maintenance;
  • Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are handled like patient specimens;
  • Analyze specimens following approved testing procedures;
  • Review and release test results;
  • Adhere to quality control policies, documenting all activities and calibrations;
  • Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance;
  • Document corrective actions for deviations;
  • Report STATS or Critical results as per procedures;
  • Maintain records of all on-site testing;
  • Ensure department appearance is well-maintained;
  • Participate in safety training and inspections;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge: The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of basic laboratory testing, good computer skills, and knowledge of QC and QA processes.

Education:

BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology. Successful completion of MT / MLT certification required.

Work Experience:

Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing. National and State licensure required.

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple procedures;
  • Collaboration with other departments;
  • Good customer service skills for client interactions;
  • Strict adherence to patient confidentiality.
