Talbert Health Center, Clackamas County

Schedule:
Monday - Friday, Daytime Business Hours, with some evening hours. Hybrid schedule can be discussed in interview.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Counselor III for our Problem Gambling Program. This role involves providing a range of supportive and therapeutic gambling and mental health services from a Strengths-Based perspective.

This position is part of an integrated co-occurring disorders services team, which allows for creativity and innovation in developing highly personalized recovery plans and advocacy strategies to assist clients in overcoming barriers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments for problem gambling issues.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and participate in emergency management.
  • Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and agency documentation requirements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to team meetings and case consultations.
  • Provide outreach to at-risk clients.

Qualifications:

  • Must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with a master's degree in a behavioral science field.
  • Working towards CGAC I, with goals to achieve CGAC II and Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certifications.
  • Proficient in DSM-based diagnostics, recovery models, motivational interviewing, and strength-based case management.
  • Excellent communication skills and adept in using electronic health records.

Working Conditions:

  • Outpatient clinic setting with potential for occasional evening hours.
Requires flexibility in managing diverse and unpredictable situations.
