Provides support for custodial, food services, facility care, and maintenance at the Balarat Campus, which includes 750 acres of land, 12 miles of trails, two miles of roads, 22,000 square feet of heated structures, 28 outbuildings, two high-challenge courses and three water systems including 10 wells and three wastewater systems.

The Balarat campus is located in the foothills near Jamestown, CO.

What You'll Do:

  • Assists Lead Caretaker and Caretaker II with large projects
  • Performs custodial services, including sanitizing and cleaning; supplies restrooms, drinking fountains and lunch room facilities; picks-up and empties facility and grounds trash; cleans, dusts, sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums, polishes and/or shampoos facility surfaces and floors; removes graffiti and other markings from facility surfaces and repaints
  • Follows proper procedures for chemical and power equipment use, in order to prevent damage and injury; checks equipment according to guidelines and notifies managers of repairs to facility operating systems (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
  • Prepares facility for scheduled use year round and performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, facility systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of facility does not deteriorate; cleans air vents and filters
  • Performs a wide variety of grounds work (e.g., irrigation system repair, snow removal, landscape trimming and cultivating, edging and mowing grass, spraying and applying landscape chemicals, forestry, road maintenance, outbuildings, etc.)
  • Makes minor repairs (e.g., furniture, lighting, electrical, fixtures)
  • Assists with moving property related items, distributing supplies, materials and equipment and assembling and installing furniture and equipment
  • Serves as a kitchen helper; assists with meal preparation and service, cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and surfaces, and receives and stocks incoming food vendor orders

What You'll Need:

Education-

  • Minimum: Highschool diploma/GED

Experience-

  • 2+ years of custodial, trade, and or maintenance-related experience

Certificates-

  • Wilderness First Aid Certification required within six months of hire.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain a Colorado driver's license within the state's required time frame for new residents and meet the District's insurability requirements.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
