Role overview

As the Operations Manager at ASTA RESORT, you will play a pivotal role in our company, overseeing the entire supply chain from order through delivery to ensure seamless operations resulting in exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing stock levels, optimising inventory turnover, and supervising warehouse operations to meet and exceed operational goals. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Design, Customer Service, and Finance, you will proactively analyse inventory levels, develop shipping strategies to optimise delivery times and costs, and foster strong relationships with global suppliers and third-party vendors. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will lead and train the operations team, implement cutting-edge e-commerce technologies, and monitor key performance indicators to drive operational excellence and maximise profitability.

Description of deliverables

  • Supply Chain Planning: Overseeing the entire supply chain to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Be responsible end-to-end and ensure efficiencies and no issues from order to delivery
  • Inventory Management: Managing stock levels, ordering new stock, and ensuring inventory is in line with demand.
  • Liaise with Marketing, Sales, Design, Customer service and Finance to understand what should be ordered, in what quantities, and when
  • Proactively analyse inventory levels, and ensure there is not large amounts of unsold stock in inventory. Continuously look to drive inventory levels down by working with Marketing and Sales
  • Warehousing: Supervising warehouse operations, including storage and inventory audits.
  • Order Fulfilment: Ensuring orders are processed, packed, and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Shipping Strategy Development: Creating strategies for shipping logistics to optimize delivery times and costs.
  • Proactively analyse costs, report to management, and propose improvements to lower shipping costs
  • Vendor Management: Collaborating with suppliers and third-party vendors to maintain product quality and timely delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking and analyzing operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver an exceptional customer experience through efficient operations.
  • Lead a team of (2) customer service representatives, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Product Development and Merchandising:
  • Manage the product development lifecycle from initial prototype to final production, acting as a liaison between designers, manufacturers, and sales teams. Oversee urgent projects and production changes to ensure continuity and efficiency.
  • Optimize online inventory levels, replenishment, and markdowns.
  • Analyze merchandising performance metrics and use data from sales channels and customer service to propose and develop new SKUs aligned with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Technology Implementation: Utilizing the latest e-commerce technologies to streamline operations and improve customer experience
  • Implementation and System Management: Lead the integration and deployment of new e-commerce technologies and operational systems to enhance workflow efficiency and customer experience.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and management within all systems, maintaining data integrity and facilitating seamless operations.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Net Profit: The actual net profit for the year
  • Order Fulfilment Accuracy: The rate at which orders are fulfilled correctly and without error.
  • Inventory Turnover: How often inventory is sold and replaced over a certain period of time.
  • Amount of stock unsold in inventory
  • Shipping cost incl. fees as a % of turnover
  • Shipping Time: The time it takes for customers to receive their orders after they've been placed.
  • Return Rate: The rate at which customers return products.

Required skills and attributes:

  • 1-3 years experience in a similar role, ​​preferably in an international logistics environment
  • Advanced fluency with excel, and WMS systems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Supply Chain/Operations Management
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Proven ability to work within timeline
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Ability to interpret data and identify the opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Strong planning and execution skills
  • Proactive in nature, thrives under pressure and is enthusiastic team player with positive attitude
  • Ability to work with a number of teams across multiple countries, time-zones and backgrounds.
  • A genuine interest in and knowledge in Women's Fashion
