Summary

You will serve as a medical professional to evaluate and provide a clear, comprehensive, and concise review of Veterans Affairs (VA) Compensation and Pension Disability claims. You will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication. You will send completed documentation to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.

Required Qualifications:

Education – Bachelor's Degree.

Licensure –Must hold an active, current, and unrestricted NP license.

Location: Onsite. Outpatient clinic. 5-6 patients a day

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, no weekends, no call, noholidays

Remuneration: This position supports a Service Contract Act (SCA) where the hourly wage is determined by the Department of Labor (DOL). The hourly wage for this position is $61.48 and is eligible for health and welfare (H&W) fringe benefit of an additional $4.23 an hour. $65.71/hour =$136,676 a year

Key Roles

  • Assist nurses and other applicable staff in processing for transactional tasks to include, but not limited to, assessments and examinations
  • Administer hearing tests, PFTs, vision tests, patient check-ins and vital signs
  • Some duties may include medical transcriptions
  • Maintain patient records through electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
  • Work independently as needed to achieve day-to-day objectives
  • Coordinate with other medical staff as needed and communicate with internal and customer team members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • "Quality vs. Quantity Model" – Typically see 5-6 Veterans per day
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned
