As a Technician, you'll handle preventative maintenance and repairs on a top-notch fleet of vehicles. Your expertise will assist customers in keeping their vehicles in optimal condition and on the road.

As a Technician II, you'll be a respected team member entrusted to work independently, carrying out major and minor repairs, road tests for issue diagnosis, and completing maintenance tasks. Moreover, you'll serve as a role model and provide informal guidance to new technicians, continuously enhancing your skills through learning from experienced colleagues and managers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vehicles are well-maintained and safe for customers
  • Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment efficiently
  • Diagnose and repair various components such as engines, transmissions, fuel system elements, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for repairs and basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Engage in Penske's technician training to acquire new skills
  • Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus
  • Specialized training in diagnosing major components, OEM courses, ASE Certification, etc. strongly preferred
  • Proficient with a variety of tools including diagnostic, hand, and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong problemsolving and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in different conditions
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Adherence to safety and maintenance protocols
  • Full attendance and punctuality required
  • Availability for travel, background checks, and drug screening as necessary

Physical Demands:

  • Regular movement, standing, walking, bending, and sitting during shifts
  • Daily use of hands to operate tools and controls
  • Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Good vision and hearing for a safe work environment
  • Lift and move heavy items as needed

Compensation: $27.50 per hour
