Carleton-Willard Village is a premier Continuing Care Retirement community located in Bedford, MA. Services include supportive care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care all in a village-type setting. Our 72-acre sanctuary of pristine woods, meadows, walking paths and gardens is just north of Boston.

Position Summary:

Hands-on IT Manager leading Carleton-Willard Village's technology initiatives for the business and the residents that we serve. Ensures high security of systems, data accuracy and integrity. Optimize our partnerships and vendor management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership :

  • Manage all aspects of IT operations, including network infrastructure, security, and systems administration
  • Roll up your sleeves and dive into technical challenges alongside your team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align IT strategies with business goals
Vendor Management :
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors
  • Negotiate contracts, evaluate service levels, and ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging solutions
Team Building :
  • Develop a vision for the IT team's growth
  • Recruit, mentor, and train future team members
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
Strategic Planning :
  • Define and execute the IT roadmap
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives
Budget Oversight :
  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring prudent allocation of resources
  • Prioritize investments based on business impact
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an IT leader, ideally in a small team or startup environment
  • Strong technical background with hands-on expertise in areas such as network administration, cloud services, and cybersecurity
  • Exceptional vendor management skills-ability to negotiate, evaluate, and optimize vendor relationships
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to build and inspire a future IT team
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Hands on approach while being a strategic thinker and implementor
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
