Mental Health Therapist/Counselor

The Mental Health Therapist works under the supervision of the Clinical Director and respective counselor supervisor.

The primary role of the Individual and Family Therapist involves conducting individual, group, and family therapies, coordinating various types of clinical mental health activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts daily individual, group, and family counseling sessions with clients.
  • Performs various Diagnostic and Assessment and Treatment Planning procedures in accordance with standards.
  • Coordinates clinical activities and monitors care compliance with agency policies.
  • Attends executive committee meetings and treatment staffing.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance committees and provides in-service training.
  • Maintains contact with family members, referral sources, and outside agencies.
  • Conducts necessary reporting to supervisor or Clinical Director.
  • Assumes additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Counseling or related field.
  • Required Licensure: Current Ohio License to perform counseling services.
  • Experience: Preferred experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults with MH diagnosis.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with others.
  • Technical/Motor Skills: Organizational skills, clear communication, and fine dexterity.
  • Age-Specific Care Criteria: Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Supervision: No supervisory function.
