M-F 8:30AM-4:30PM

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

RRH helps link families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness to resources and housing.

RRH also provides ongoing housing stabilization supports for up to 12 months to individuals and families housed through the program.

Head of Household (HOH) or individual must be homeless (on the streets, in emergency shelter or fleeing DV). Referrals come from Greater Hartford or Central Connecticut Coordinated Access Network (through 211).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as an entry point for homeless individuals and families in Central CT to access housing resources through the CAN
  • Provides individualized interviews to assist with diverting individuals and families from having to utilize emergency shelter and/or homelessness.
  • Provide direct case management such as establishing rapport with clients, writing comprehensive treatment plans (as needed and required), provides direct skill teaching, advocacy and assistance around obtaining/maintaining benefits, budgeting, treatment, medical services, employment, transportation etc.
  • Assist clients with access to job and vocational training.
  • Link clients to appropriate mental health and/or substance abuse counseling and DCF services.
  • Provide direct assistance in the form of security deposits and time limited rental assistance
  • Advocate with landlords for tenant rights; provide conflict resolution as needed.
  • Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
  • Provides Outreach/Community Education
  • Liaison with homeless service providers, Coordinated Access networks, DCF, domestic violence service providers, CHR providers and courts to provide information about access to the program.
  • Maintain awareness of the program within the community.
  • Assists in understanding tenant rights and responsibility as well as basic understanding of housing law as well as conducts outcome surveys as required
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively and thoroughly with clients in both Spanish and English, as needed.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree required, concentration in Human Services preferred.

Experience: 2 years' experience working with homeless population or family's dependent on specific position. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Valid driver's license. CPR/First-Aid Certification within 6 months of hire desired.

COMPENSATION:

$20.6586/hr min to $30.9878/hr max, dependent upon experience.

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy.
