The Department of Children and Families in Connecticut is currently seeking candidates for a full-time position in Middletown, CT.

The ideal candidate will manage a case load, providing individual and family therapy, psychological assessments, and report writing within a 40-hour work week.

Position Highlights: PCN 445444

  • Solnit Hospital; Sachem Unit
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • One late night per week; 10:30 am - 7:00 pm
  • Specific day to be determined based on operational needs

In this role as a Clinical Psychologist, you will:

  • Coordinate clinical psychological services
  • Provide consultation on complex cases
  • Engage in diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination
  • Develop new service programs
  • Conduct research and report findings
  • Provide training sessions
  • Consult with community agencies
  • Perform related duties as required

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

This position involves providing various psychological services in a state facility, including therapy, diagnostic testing, program development, and research

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Includes participating in clinical services, providing consultation, conducting research, and performing related duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Requires knowledge of psychology, testing, research methodologies, and strong communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Must have a doctorate in psychology and at least one year of post-doctoral experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in psychiatric settings with adolescents
  • Work with diverse populations and supervision experience
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid psychologist license in Connecticut
  • May require fluency in a foreign language
  • Travel may be necessary

WORKING CONDITIONS

May involve physical demands and exposure to challenging environments
