Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs vascular diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonography or Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year Diagnostic Ultrasound/Vascular experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in Diagnostic Ultrasound/Vascular experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of a current registry (RVT) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS).

If an ultrasound technologist holds an ARRT registry in Radiography, they must possess current Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Abdomen, OB, RVT and or any other sonography credentials.

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS- Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center
