JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is preparing for new projects in various disciplines, located in the US and Alaska. Complete an application for priority consideration.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and guide mechanical commissioning technicians to successfully complete tasks within the project scope, emphasizing safety and injury prevention. This involves overseeing instrument leads and assigning systems.

KEY JOB OBJECTIVES:
- Promote safety awareness and advocacy; provide leadership to a technical team across disciplines, plan and coordinate work in a multiple operations environment, possess expertise relevant to system design and operation, and collaborate with engineers, vendors, construction, and operations teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure strict adherence to Wood's Safety Policies and Procedures throughout the project phases, emphasizing personal and team safety awareness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Commissioning Coordinators in executing system tasks, development, and reporting.
  • Lead commissioning procedures for Mechanical/Piping systems.
  • Provide on-site leadership and coordination for a team of mechanical commissioning technicians.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations for input and expertise in procedure execution.
  • Manage Mechanically Complete Subsystem packages from Construction.
  • Handle Punch List management and accountability for offered Subsystems/Systems.
  • Prepare job cards for Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with project HSE leadership to develop Job Safety Analysis for commissioning activities.
  • Ensure safe execution of Technicians' work following site procedures and PTW system.
  • Read, interpret, and utilize vendor documentation, project drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Identify necessary personnel and equipment for mechanical commissioning activities.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and requisition supplies.
  • Support Coordinator in vendor management during commissioning for assigned systems.
  • Coordinate with CMS Custodian for database integrity, amendments, and progress reporting.
  • Maintain records and generate reports on mechanical and process systems.
  • Analyze and correct work problems to facilitate task completion.
  • Adhere to Permit to Work procedures.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and establish productive relationships.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:
A motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and team-oriented personality essential to collaborate with Construction and Operations Teams. Proficient in onshore Oil & Gas processing facilities including:
  • Commissioning and Start-up of process and utility systems
  • Reading and interpreting P&IDs, Piping Isometrics, and Production Flow Diagrams
  • Knowledge of Millwright, piping, and gas compression equipment
  • Experience with rotating equipment and oil pipeline systems
  • Understanding operations and maintenance of production facilities
  • Knowledge of leak testing, lube oil flushing, and chemical system flushing
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work System and standard safety procedures
Education and Experience:
Minimum 10 years' experience in onshore Oil & Gas Completion and Commissioning, preferably in a Lead Technician or Engineer role with midstream exposure. Previous supervisory experience in mechanical, piping, or rotating equipment commissioning. Proficient in written and oral English communication.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) in primary Engineering discipline.
