Job OverviewThe Production Supervisor
  • Heavy Fabrication & Weld 3rd Shift at the Komatsu Manufacturing Facility will have responsibility over the Heavy Fabrication and Welding (sub arc, hex chrome, fit up/tack, 3/32 flux core) Manufacturing Operation activities on 3rd Shift, within our Union Manufacturing Setting.
Key Job Responsibilities Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties. Plans flow of materials through department. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve safety, production methods, productivity, equipment performance, and quality of product. Verifies conformance to specifications. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Supervises the Hourly Workforce. Maintain time and attendance records via on-line system. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew. Monitor and track attendance of employees to the Company Guidelines. Maintain documentation of nonconforming attendance, productivity and compliance to Company Rules. Establishes and/or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Determine production priorities in support of production schedules and assign work accordingly. Coordinate production requirements across shifts. Authorizes the release of production items as operations are completed. Uses drawings, routings and procedure documents to ensure compliance with product design requirements. Identify errors in product drawings, routings or other documents and communicate for correction. Disposition nonconforming items, including documentation of deviation requests as required. Review Quality Assurance documentation for accuracy and completeness. Administrate Union Contract, including reviews and resolution of grievances. Participate in Operations Safety Program and enforce Compliance with Safety Rules. Order and maintain inventory of shipping and painting supplies, boxes, crates and skids that are required to ship products.
Qualifications/Requirements Associate degree or equivalent; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; (or equivalent). Previous Heavy Fabrication Manufacturing Supervision experience is highly preferred. Previous Manufacturing Supervision experience in Welding (sub-arc, hex-chrome, fit up / tack, 3/32 flux core) is a preference. Prior Union Supervision or Union experience would be a plus. Experience with Root Cause Investigations is beneficial. Prior experience with Lifting / Rigging is preferred. Ability and want to work on 3rd Shift.
